Overwhelming majority of women in rural areas of Punjab and Khyber PakhtoonKhawa are subjected to domestic violence and are represented by their male family members at public forms. The survey conducted by SDPI, under the Awaz Voice and accountability project has reviled that majority of religious minorities are marginalization in these areas, where delivery of basic services is poor. The study conducted with the support of Department for International development (DFID), UK has revealed that rural communities consider informal dispute resolution mechanism, such as Jirga and Panchayat as more effective than courts.
