CPEC: Development or Exploitation

Balochistan National Party (BNP) demands that provinces rights to their resources should be accepted and Gwadar port should be fully handed over to Balochistan. The demand was made at a seminar titled: "CPEC Development or Exploitation" which was organized by BNP in Islamabad. A resolution presented at the seminar include 16 different demands, to seek approval of the participants by raising their hands. The resolution carried 16 demands. Major demands include: provision of jobs to locals on priority basis, provision of clean drinking water, road infrastructure, hospitals, technical colleges and establishment of Marine University at Gwadar city. Other demands include provision of alternative employments to fisherman of Gwadar, exemption to port city residents from taxes and utility bill for 30 years, and return of forcibly acquired land from local people.
