Pakistan Competitiveness and Global Economies

Marked improvement of 21 ranks in institutional pillar help lifts Pakistan up in Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) 2017-18, said Amir Jahangir, CEO Mishal Pakistan, the Country Partner Institute of the Global Competitiveness and Benchmarking Network of the World Economic Forum. Amir said that the ranking, which placed Pakistan 115th out of 137 countries, are calculated by drawing together country-level data covering 12 pillars of competitiveness, of which infrastructure, institutions and innovation and technological readiness are the major pillars. The ranking tells that how Pakistan’s performance improved over the years and highlight those areas where performance remained poor, he added.
